Comics and Storyboards

Since I was in the 3rd grade I made my own comic books to entertain my class mates. So naturally I'm gravitated to jobs/ projects that involves storybooks...

Sports Comics, Hockey

I created a series of 1 page graphic novels. The concept was focusing on individual (fictitious) "Impact players". Impact Player being the title. The story highlighted different defensive plays, offense (as shown), goal tending, fighting, etc...

The Princess of Zan,

This was a graphic Novel I started out but never finished. It was intended for the Heavy Metal adult Magazine. I still plan on finishing it..

Ripclaw, Image comics

In the mid 1990s I wanted to draw comics for a major comic co., but they were all located at NY, until Image came to LA I created a portfolio highlighting Image character Ripclaw this is one of the pages from that set. I heard they were looking for artists at ComicCon back then it wasn't that hard to enter. I was fortunate Marc Selvestri gave me his card and invited me to go to there studio unfortunately I was offered a raise and promotion at my co. At the time my son was 2 years old.

Another Heavy Metal story...

At the time I requested a letter regarding there specifications. I was given a reply of... This is an ADULT Magazine, we may convey, sex, violence, and any type of subject we may desire. I submitted this and 2 other pages as preliminary drafts... I was told it had to much Sexual and Violent connotation. I was asked to edit it, but they enjoyed the characters and subject matter... oh and follow there page format.. Funny... maybe now they'll be more receptive lol...

JAG, Action sequence page1.

I was fortunate to know one of the directors of the JAG series. I was given the opportunity to draw the action sequence story boards. It would lead to 3 more. I had done commercial story boards but nothing like this....

JAG, Action sequence page2.

This particular director wanted story boards on each camera. Camera A, B, and C. The 2 pages shows camera A.
